Reiki for Humans

Reiki’s gentle energy is easily adapted to most medical conditions, and maybe used safely by people of all ages including babies, pregnant mothers, surgical patients, frail and elderly and in most situations.

Reiki is a complementary therapy, it can be used alongside conventional healthcare and natural remedies, expanding treatment options. Reiki does not take the place of conventional medicine. Always consult your doctor for an acute or infectious condition and problems of urgent concerns.

A short case history prior to the session is taken. The session is carried out with the client sitting or laying down. The client is fully clothed throughout the session. My hands are placed gently on or near to the clients’ body in a series of hand positions. There is no massage or manipulation. The session lasts for 30 to 60 minutes and can sometimes last longer.

The benefits of Reiki reported by my clients include deep relaxation, promoting calm, and a peaceful sense of well being on all levels.

During the process of grief peoples feelings vary widely, the peace and calm of Reiki healing maybe beneficial at this time.

Reiki is not based on belief, faith or suggestion.

Frequently asked questions

How many sessions should I have?

Depending on the needs of the individual, one session can make a difference or regular sessions maybe more effective.

What will I feel during a Reiki session?

You may feel mild tingling, warmth, coolness, see colours, other sensations or nothing at all.

Are there side effects from Reiki treatments?

Most of the time a person will feel relaxed and uplifted by a Reiki session. However occasionally a person will have what is called a healing crisis, some temporary physical symptoms such as a headache or a stomachache or feel weak. If this happens it is a good idea to drink more water and eat light meals and rest. The body detoxifies as part of the healing process so it is a good sign.
